amNewYork claims highest circulation in NY

amNewYork2013On their website, free New York daily amNewYork claims that it had a circulation of 325,000, “almost 20,000 more a day than Metro” in the first three months of 2013.

In Manhattan, amNewYork claims a daily circulation of 292,000 compared to Metro’s 219,000. Research has being conducted by Certified Audit of Circulations.

amNewYork’s Friday weekend edition has an average circulation of 353,000 – 40,000 more than Metro.

Some weeks ago, Metro claimed a slightly higher readership in New York. The competition between the two papers is apparently extremely fierce.

The language of amNewYork in its press release (overwhelming dominance, demolishing the competition, unmatched) proves the warlike relation between the papers.
