Metro Photo Challenge 2012

quito challengeThe 2012 Metro Photo Challenge kicked off on September 17. The winners will be announced on November 30. The first prize is a 10-day photo-trip to Greenland.

In 2011 over 160,000 photos were submitted; Metro expects to beat that figure in 2012 with an improved web platform and increased visibility. Jeremy Bryant, VP Global Marketing at Metro International, says:

“We will have participation and promotion from the most Metro countries ever; a re-designed, user-friendly platform; and new social media integration, including Pinterest, Twitter and Facebook. Plus, users on all platforms can upload pictures instantly, via the latest mobile technology. It’s never been easier to participate.”

People can¬†submit photo’s in the categories: “My Country’s Best”, “My Favorite”, “My Night” and “Temptations”.

Several Metro editions promoted the challenge with their newspaper, that actually looked as if they were waiting for photo’s to be submitted. Right is the issue from Quito (Ecuador); the Russian (St. Petersburg) and Guatemala editions use similar editions.
