Metro Peru launching June 30

A Peru edition of Metro – called Publimetro – will launch in Peru capital Lima on June 30.

The paper will be published as a franchise by media group El Comercio, publisher of a paid newspaper with the same name.

El Comercio is the third newspaper in the country (102,000 copies) after Trome (405,000 copies; Empresa Popular S.A.C.) and Nuevo Ojo (130,000; Empresa Periodística Nacional).

The new edition will have a circulation of 95,000 copies.

After Chile, Brazil Mexico, Ecuador and Guatemala, the Peruvian edition is the sixth Metro edition in Latin America.
