Dutch free circulation down to 1.1 million

depers2011Two of the three free national Dutch daily newspapers cut circulation in 2010 compared to 2009.

Metro now distributes 486,000 copies (505,000 in 2009). With a readership of 1,705,000 this means 3.5 reader per copy (3.6 in 2009).

Spits has a circulation of 383,000 (416,000 in 2009) – the paper now reaches 4.1 reader per copy ( 1,582,000 in total) against 4.0 in 2009.

De Pers is the only paper that increased circulation as it went from 221,000 to 240,000. With 717,000 readers the paper has 3.0 readers per copy.
