Two new editions for Metro Canada

Screen shot 2011-02-28 at 9.53.25 PMMetro Canada will launch editions for Winnipeg (Manitoba) and London (Ontario) on April 4 (CBC).

Metro Canada, a joint venture between Metro International and Canadian publishers Torstar and Transcontinental, already publishes editions in Toronto (2000), Montreal (2001), Ottawa, Vancouver (both 2005), Calgary, Edmonton (both 2007) and Halifax (2008).

Total circulation of Metro’s seven editions is now 800,000 and will rise to almost 900,000. Circulation in Winnipeg will be 40,000 while 35,000 copies will be distributed in London.

Winnipeg (460,000 inhabitants) has no underground system, public transport consist of railways and a bus system. In London (350,000 inhabitants) the situation is the same.

Metro Canada is highly profitable and one of Metro best performing editions according to the last quarterly report from Metro International.
