Metro Q3 results

Whether Metro International will make a profit in 2010 depends totally on the results of the last quarter. So far, the company recorded a loss of more than €4 million in the first nine months of 2010, but with results improving over the last quarters, and without the burden of loss-making papers in Greece and Italy, a strong fourth quarter could results in a small profit for 2010 in total.

The net profit for Q3 was €1 million, in Q3 2009 Metro recorded a net loss of more than €8 million. Net revenues increased from €40 million to €45 million. The EBIT for Q3 was €3.2 million.

Metro reported strong sales growth in Russia, Mexico, Brazil, Canada, Sweden and Chile.
