Metro Canada sees readership increase

metro_toronto_2010More than 1.36 million people in Canada read free daily Metro on a daily basis according to the latest NADbank 2009/2010 research. This is up from 1.25 million in the 2009 research and from 1.14 million in 2008/2009.

In all markets – except for Vancouver – Metro gained readers.

Almost half of the readers are in Toronto (556,000); followed by Montreal (338,000), Vancouver (180,000), Ottawa (83,000), Calgary (81,000), Edmonton (69,000) and Halifax (56,000).

(As a Metro press release is the only source, the Metro data cannot be compared to other newspapers’ performance.)
