Metro Rio

metroSaoPaolo2010Metro Brazil will  launch a fifth edition in Rio de Janeiro and expand circulation in the country to 330,000 copies. Metro will surpass paid daily Folha de Sao Paulo as the paper with the largest circulation in the country.

The Rio edition has a circulation of 100,000 and will be delivered by hand at strategic locations in city. Metro Brazil is majority owned by Grupo Bandeirantes; Metro International owns 29.99% of the operation.

Metro Brazil launched in Sao Paolo in 2007; in 2009 ABC (Greater São Paulo: Santo André, São Bernardo do Campo and São Caetano do Sul) and Santos followed; in April of this year Metro launched in Campinas.
