Queuing up for ADN Bogotá

bogota2010Picking up a free newspaper in the Colombian capital Bogotá is not easy. You have to line up in a queue to get one; which is what I did this morning at one of the major bus stations in the city.

Distributors of ADN, the only Bogota free daily, are protected from the sun by a big yellow umbrella and hand out hundreds of copies per hour.

Today’s copy counted 24 pages (9 pages ads) and also had a special advertising insert. All editions can be downloaded from the ADN website.

ADN is the Colombian version of the Spanish ADN, launched by the Planeta group in 2006 in more than a dozen Spanish markets.

The Colombian edition is published by newspaper El Tiempo, part of Editoral Planeta Colombia. The paper started in September 2008 with different editions for Bogotá, Medellín, Barranquilla and Cali. Joint circulation is around 300,000.
