DNews founders Cipriani leave paper
Antonio and Gianni Cipriani, founders of Italian free daily DNews, have suddenly left the paper. According to Italian sources (Iris Press, Il Salvagente), publisher Mario Farina wanted to get rid of the brothers because they advocated a more critical style of the papers.
In 2004, the Cipriani brothers also were involved in the launch of another free daily: E Polis, but left after quarrels with the new management to start DNews in 2008.
DNews has editions in Rome, Milan, Bergamo and Verona, and prints around 500,000 copies daily.
