Spits expands, Metro extends

spitslogoAfter a decline in circulation in 2009 (see previous post), Dutch free dailies seem to be expanding distribution again this year.

Last week De Pers announced that it would increase circulation to 250,000 (see previous post). Today free daily Spits said they are expanding distribution through public transport in three areas.

Spits made a deal with bus company Connexion to distribute their free paper in Meerlanden (area including Schiphol Airport), Arnhem/Nijmegen (east of the Netherlands) and Almere (the fastest growing city in the country). (Adformatie).
