Springer fights free “electronic” newspaper

bildappGerman publisher Axel Springer is trying to ban the free iPhone news app by German public broadcaster ARD.

It is an intolerable unfair competition according Springer who is offering paid iPhone app for its newspapers Bild (left), Die Welt and Berliner Zeitung.

Also German magazine publishers have protested to the free public broadcasting news app.

On tagesschau.de there is already a free mobile application for news from ARD available. (Kress)
