Spits editor-in-chief goes local

BartBrouwersBart Brouwers, editor-in-chief of Dutch free daily Spits, will leave his job after four years in January 2010.

Publisher Telegraaf Media Groep, owner of Spits, national daily and paid market leader De Telegraaf and a group of regional dailies and weeklies in the provinces of North- and South Holland, appointed Brouwers as the editor of a new series of local online news sites that are about to be developed.

Willem Schouten, the current deputy editor, will be the new editor in chief of Spits.
