Belgian Metro cuts circulation
Metro, the free Belgian daily published by the Concentra group in different French and Flemish editions, seems to be slowly cutting circulation since the beginning of this year.
In 2008 the average circulation was 254,000 while the average circulation over the first nine months of 2009 is 246,000. In the first quarter circulation was 274,000 – in the third quarter it was down to 219,000. Circulation in the third quarter, however, is always less, while in the fourth quarter circulation usually is somewhat better.
The French language edition has a average circulation of 115,000 copies, the Flemish version distributes 131,000 copies. (data from CIM.be)
