Monthly readership paid & free differs

Although readership of paid newspapers seems to be rather stable during the year, readership of free newspapers changes more rapidly, most of all because free dailies tend to stop publishing during the summer of cut circulation.

The dutch readership survey organization NOM started in 2008 with tracking the monthly readership of newspapers. In the graph below is shows that readership of free dailies (light blue) is dropping in July and August 2008, in September it picks up again. Also January and December show lower readership.

Paid national (red) and local (blue) readership is more stable (Cebuco).
