10 years of Dutch free dailies

Next month it will be ten years of free dailies in the Netherlands. On June 21 1999, both Metro and Spits (by paid paper De Telegraaf) launched, changing the Dutch media landscape (and my life) profoundly.

In one of the smallest theatres in Amsterdam, operated by local daily Het Parool, the 10th anniversary will be celebrated on June 22. The editors in chief of Spits, Bart Brouwers and De Pers, Ben Rogmans, will be on stage together with Bob Witman, former editor in chief of the now defunct free daily DAG and myself.

Tickets can be ordered by email through the Parool-theater website.
