Diario do Pantanal

In Campo Grande in Brazil (province of Mato Grosso do Sul), Diario do Pantanal (dp) was launched in March 2001. The last online issue, however, is dated March 5 2009, suggesting the paper stopped publication two months ago.

According to the website the free paper had a circulation of 10,000 and a readership of 50,000. In 2006, however, the paper had an official circulation of 5,000 to 8,000 and also had a cover price, suggesting that it moved to a free model in 2007 or 2008.

It was distributed Monday to Friday through 200 spots around the city. The paper was published by independent company Editora Diario do Pantanal LTDA. It expected to expand to other areas and increase distribution to 20,000. (ABYZ News Links)
