Ryssdal new Schibsted CEO

Norwegian media company Schibsted – publisher of free dailies in France, Spain, Lithuania and Estonia – has appointed Rolv Erik Ryssdal as new CEO. He succeeds Kjell Aamot. Ryssdal will take over the position 1 June 2009.

Rolv Erik Ryssdal has been in the Schibsted Group since 1991, the latest 10 years in key management position. He has been CEO of the two largest newspapers in the Schibsted Group. First in Aftonbladet in Sweden in the period 1999-2005 and then in Norway’s VG from 2005 to 2008.

Since 2008, Ryssdal has been CEO of Schibsted Classified Media (SCM), the holding company for Schibsteds’s international online classifieds operations.
