Philly Metro publisher leaves

According to Free-Daily.com, Eric Mayberry, publisher of the Philadelphia edition of Metro, is leaving the company and works now as a consultant to “help Metro lobby for state and city legal ads now reserved for paid papers like the Philadelphia Inquirer.”

Mayberry tried to acquire the paper some months ago, but negotiations on the deal fell through. Again according to free-daily.com, Mayberry improved the content of the Philly edition and targeted it more to younger readers, which resulted in better advertising deals.

On his personal webpage, Mayberry still calls himself “President and Publisher of Metro Philadelphia”. (photo from Mayberry homepage.)
