Metro US drops AP
Free daily Metro in the US (New York, Boston, Philadelphia) is dropping the Associated Press wire service from April 1 on. The US editions will rely more on other wire services, Metro International’s own network and own local reporting.
According to Tony Metcalf, editor in chief of Metro USA: “By relying more on our own reporting staff, we make a substantial saving while protecting the newspapers’ quality and improving relevance to our local.” (Crain’s)
