Metro Moscow launched in green

From Monday on, the free Moscow Metro will be integrated in the Russian operation of Metro International. In December 2008 Metro International closed a franchise deal with the owners of the (blue) Moscow ‘Mempo’ to rebrand the paper into a (green) Metro International edition.

The website, so far, looked like a hybrid, with the old blue brand and the green Metro International logo in green.

From 2 March on, both the St. Petersburg edition (launched in 2005) and the Moscow edition will use the same URL: www.metronews.ru. Depending on where you are accessing the website, the St. Petersburg or the Moscow edition will open.

The paper version of the new green Metro Moscow will be on the streets this Monday (and can be downloaded from the Metropoint website). Total circulation (St. Petersburg and Moscow combined) is 700,000 according to the publisher.
