Metro Denmark subscription
Danish free dailies MetroXpress and 24Timer, both owned by Metro International will get a financial support of €4.6m in 2009 (see previous post) and use this to re-establish the subscription network that was cancelled in 2006. In that year the subsidy for Post Danmark for distribution of newspapers was withdrawn by the Danish Government.
The subsidy will enable Metroxpress to expand its distribution network. Metroxpress has formed a subsidiary (Distributionskompagniet ApS) to manage its distribution. Distributionskompagniet will also provide services for third parties. (Metro International)
