All Spanish free see readership increase in 2008

Spanish free daily ADN saw its readership increase with more than 25% in 2008 compared to the 2007 data according to the last AIMC/EGM research (February-November 2008). ADN has now 1,787,000 daily readers, which makes it the 6th best-read paper in Spain.

Free daily 20 Minutos is with 2,889,000 the best-read paper in Spain (+15%) before sports paper Marca (2,597,000 readers, +9%), free daily Qué! (2,255,000 readers, +15%), paid paper El País (2,218,000 readers, -1%) and free daily Metro (1,823,000 readers, +6%).

Paid papers As, El Periodico and ABC saw readership increase in 2008, El Mundo and La Vanguardia saw a decline of readership compared to 2007.

As all free papers have cut down circulation and/or closed down editions, readership is not likely to rise in 2009.
