US free local paper turns 30

In the Jackson Hole News (found on the Free-daily.com-blog) a great story was published about the Jackson Hole Daily (Jackson Hole, Wyoming), a free paper started in 1978 on December 1. It had a circulation of 2,000, counted a dozen pages and was printed in a very small half tabloid format.

Today the paper is printed as a tabloid and has a circulation of around 10,000.
