ADN Vigo & La Coruña merge with LV

The editions of free daily ADN in Vigo and La Coruña will be closed down tomorrow, the business operations will be merged with LV, another free daily published in the area, according to La Voz de Calicia. Probably also a third Galician edition (Pontevedra) will be affected.

ADN is published by the Planeta Group, together with local publishers in several Spanish areas. In Galicia this was La Voz de Galicia until June 2007. The editions have a joint circulation of 72,000. It was launched in Galicia in March 2006

LV (Luns a Venres: meaning Monday to Friday in Galician) is published by paid paper El Progreso.

La Voz de Galicia also reported that another national free daily in Spain, Qué!, is sacking no less than 40% of its workforce, meaning more than a 100 staff members.
