Swiss free circulation still rising

In contrast to what is happening in many European countries, free dailies in Switzerland have seen their circulation gone up according to the last WEMF audit on Juli 2007 – June 2008.

20 Minuten saw its circulation increase from 436,000 to 526,000 copies a day. The French 20 Minutes edition went from 210,000 to 222,00 copies.

In the French language market, however, Le Matin Bleu beat 20 minutes, because it increased from 183,000 to 231,000 copies.

New entry Blick am Abend has a circulation of 211.000. For the other new entries News and .ch no data are available.

Of the paid papers only S├╝dostschweiz saw its circulation increase slightly. Leading tabloid Blick dropped from 240,000 to 231,000; the Tages-Anzeiger went from 216,000 to 214,000 copies.

Free business paper Cash Daily distributed 112,000 copies. (Persoenlich)
