Plans for LA? Closure in Dallas?

Clyde Davis blog reports that a free daily is about to be launched in LA according to the ad for staff in Craigslist.

The paper will distribute between “200,000 and 350,000 daily M-F, no Saturday edition and a 500,000 circulation Sunday edition which will be available nationally” – a model that looks like The Examiner.

Davis also reports that free daily Quick in Dallas is about to be converted into a weekly because of the launch of the free broadsheet Briefing that will be home delivered in Dallas from Wednesday through Saturday. According to publisher Belo, Briefing is to be expected on August 27.

Update: The Weekly plan for Quick seems to be confirmed by Quick’s publisher Alison Draper.
