Second Buenos Aires daily: El Argentino

Since last Monday, the Argentine capital Buenos Aires has two free dailies, published in three editions.

The new free daily, published by Sergio Szpolski, is called El Argentino, and not La Manaha, as was suggested before.

To counter the new paper, incumbent free afternoon daily La Razon, launched a morning edition as well. The ‘manaha’ edition of La Razon is distributed in 100,000 copies. Also the afternoon edition has a distribution of 100,000 copies.

The organization of distributors of paid papers and magazines has already protested against the new paper because it would hurt the income of the distributors.

The protesters had a clash with the police when they wanted to block distribution. (Picture by Critica Digital)
