Portuguese victory covers
Portugal was the first team in the European football championship to qualify. All free dailies displayed the victory on the cover. Destak (left) had Cristiano Ronaldo prominently displayed on the front page. (pdf on the website)
Metro (right) also chose for a non-game picture and had celebrating players jumping on each other. The pdf can be seen in full on www.readmetro.com. or www.metropoint.com. The Portuguese Metro website seems to be off line these days.
Even free business paper OJE (left) celebrated the qualification, although more restrained, with a smaller picture and a non-player celebrating. This is an exception for the paper that usually has sports only on the back pages.
Meia Hora (right) went for a game picture, again with Cristiano Ronaldo, aiming at the Czech defenders. The pdf’s are on the website.
Lastly, also Global Noticias went for a action picture of Cristiano Ronaldo, probably the most photographed player in the tournament so far.
