Ken Livingstone speaks on London free papers

London mayor Ken Livingstone is not too happy about the performance of the two evening free papers in terms of providing recycle bins in London. But he is also not pleased with how the Westminster Council handles the issue: “The paucity of recycling bins for free sheets across London is as much a reflection on the poor implementation of the legislation by local authorities, including Westminster, as it is a pitiful contribution by the publishers.” (project freesheet)

No to be forgotten, however, is that there were times when Ken was overjoyed by the prospect of new free newspapers – provided that they would paid for the contract of distributing in tube-stations and not on the sidewalks in front of them (see previous post).
