Readership Canada
Compared to 2006, readership in Canada only changed marginally according to the Fall 2006 / Sping 2007 data by NadBank. As was shown last year, readership in Canada of free dailies seems to have reached a saturation level. New entry Rush Hour, however, is not yet audited.
In Montreal Metro shares the 3rd place with La Gazette (both 11% daily reach) after Le Journal de Montreal and La Presse; 24 heures is the 5th paper (8% reach after 7% in 2006).
In Ottawa Metro shares the 4th place with the Globe and Mail (both stable at 6%) after the Ottawa Citizen, The Ottawa Sun and Le Droit. 24 heures is not yet audited.
In Toronto both free dailies 24 hours and Metro share the 4th place (8%) after the Toronto Star (23%), The Toronto Sun (11%) and The Globe and Mail (9%). The Sun and Metro both lost 1% reach compared to 2006.
In Vancouver 24 hours is the third paper (12% stable) after The Vancouver SunĀ and The Province – both paid papers lost readers in the last period. Metro is 4th with a 7% reach (6% in 2006).
