MatinPlus and Direct Soir in Paris Metro

Both Paris free papers by media tycoon Vincent Bolloré have secured a contract to distribute in the famous Paris Metro. Although the first free dailies in Paris were introduced more than five ago, the Paris subway system seemed unreachable. The distribution contract went to the free weekly A Nous Paris, although there were only few boxes and even these were seldom filled. Other free dailies 20 Minutes and Metro are distributed on the streets, in restaurant and shopping malls. The contract with subway operator RATP involves distribution in 170 to 200 of the total 300 stations in the Paris area. Starting date of the non-exclusive contract is October 15. (AFP)
