.ch launch
With the launch of .ch this morning, Switzerland now has six free dailies, published in 20 different editions with a total circulation of 1.8 million. Total share of free dailies rises to 44%. The new paper is published in different editions for Zurich (with Winterthur, Baden, Aarau; circulation 275,000), Bern (85,000), Basel (70,000), St. Gallen and Luzern (35,000 each). These numbers equal those of 20 Minuten although .ch has a higher circulation in the Zurich area. Total circulation of .ch is 430,000 and will rise to 500,000 after nine months. There are already 20,000 distribution racks on the streets and in other places with commuters passing by. Another part of the paper will be home delivered.
