London publishers into waste management
Free newspaper publishers Associated Newspapers (London Lite) and News International (thelondonpaper) will provide funds for 64 recycling bins in Central London. The growing amount of waste – much of it because of discarded free papers – has been on the agenda of the Westminster City Council for months. The third publisher (City AM, circulation around 100,000) is not included in the deal. But also Associated Newspapers’ other free daily, Metro, does not participate. Metro has the highest circulation in London but is most of all distributed in subway stations. In total more than 1.5 million free dailies are distributed in London every weekday
