Mecom wants French papers too
After acquiring newspapers in Denmark, Germany, Norway, the Netherlands, Poland and the Ukraine, the company now want to expand to France as well. Mecom is bidding for the regional assets of the Le Monde group and Lagardere. This titles also include free dailies Monpellier Plus and Marseille Plus. The initial bid of 300 million, however, was rejected by the owners.
