4th free Dutch DAG launched
Fourth free national Dutch daily DAG launched today, May 8, with a circulation of 300,000 copies. Distribution will be through public transport and the 700 Albert Heijn retail supermarkets. The paper has a staff of 45 people, that also are responsible for a website and a version for mobile phones. Plans for the website are ambitious, DAG wants to become one of the leading Dutch news sites with focus on recent news, blogs, photo’s, audio and video. Publisher PCM and telecom operator KNP are joint owners of DAG. Photo’s and graphics also play an important role in the paper (picture is the dummy from last week). Total circulation of free papers in the Netherlands will rise to 1.8 million.
