The Standard strikes back

eveningstandard.jpgThe London Evening Standard, hurt badly after the launch of thelondonpaper and it’s own London Lite in September 2006, is starting a new advertising campaign with the slogan: “There are papers. Then there are Standards.” That may be, but all the same, the amount of Standards is rapidly going down these months. Compared to December 2005, the evening paper by Associated Newspapers lost 18% of it’s circulation and is now well below the 300,000 mark with 263,000 copies. In order to distinguish itself from the free competition, the paper increased the cover price to 50p.
