ganz.gifThe Guangzhou Metro Daily was launched October 1 in the South-Chinese city of Guangzhou. In the first trial period the paper will be published only three days a week: Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The paper counts 24 color pages and has a circulation of 300,000. Distribution is through the subway system (54 kilometers, 44 stations, 580,000 passengers a day) and in office buildings. At the end of the year the subway system will be expanded, while another increase is targeted for 2010. A move to daily circulation is possible when the first months prove to be succesful. In Shanghai the Tuesday-to-Friday Metro Express is published.
