mX Sydney: less readers than copies
News Ltd complained about the methodology (too few people interviewed) of the latest Australian Roy Morgan Research readership survey. The research not only revealed that almost every Australian daily lost readers, but also that the free daily mX in Sydney actually had less readers than distributed copies. The paper claims a circulation of 90,000 for both Melbourne and Sydney. Roy Morgan reports 130,000 readers in Melbourne and 54,000 in Sydney for the period July 2005 – June 2006. Last year the Melbourne edition had 147,000 readers.
